Amruta Khanvilkar To Play Lead Role In Marathi Film "Chandramukhi"

Amruta Khanvilkar to play lead role in upcoming Marathi Film "Chandramukhi" चंद्रमुखी

The most awaited marathi film of 2022 "Chandramukhi", directed by actor director Prasad Oak has been created lot of buzz around movie goers since it has announced, as movie is based on Vishwas Patil novel with same name, which was already hit among readers, has made everyone very curious who will be playing lead charachter in the film.

A few days ago, the makers had unveiled the first look of 'Addinath Kothare', who is playing the role of politician 'Daulat Deshmane' in the film. And now, the makers have finally revealed the actress name in a grand star-studded event organised last evening on March 22 at heritage theatre "Royal Opera House", Mumbai, the makers announced by unveiling a 35 foot cutout of Amruta Khanvilkar as Chandramukhi.



This film has been produced by Akshay Bardapurkar and Piyush Singh of Planet Marathi and Golden Ratio Films. Speaking about the grand launch at the Opera House, producer Akshay Bardapurkar said, "The subject deserves a grand platform and so does the Marathi film industry. The subject of our film is about tamasha culture prevalent in Maharashtra. We are keen to give this subject and the film that stature."

The event significantly welcomed and honoured original Tamasha artists of Maharashtra and historically for the first time Tamasha artists performed at the Regality of Royal Opera House.

At the event, Amruta Khanvilkar who performed on a song from the film titled 'Chandra' sung by Shreya Ghoshal. The actress shared a statement with the media, in which she said, "I am blessed to receive the opportunity of playing this role which has intense shades of love, romance, dedication and struggle. I have poured my heart and soul as Chandramukhi and lived the character to portray it on screen. The film comes with much responsibility for the entire team and we have gone the extra mile to do justice. We hope the efforts are appreciated."

Addinath Kothare, who was recently seen in the Hindi film 83 as Dilip Vengsarkar, plays the male lead in the film as Daulat Deshmane. In an event Addinath shared on being cast opposite Amruta Khanvilkar, "Amruta is a splendid and magical dancer who effortlessly manages to mesmerise the viewers, and it has been an interesting journey to work together as we have been paired for the first time. I am sure the audience will definitely love our chemistry in the film."

Apart from Amruta Khanvilkar and Addinath Kothare, the movie also stars Mrunmayee Deshpande and Mohan Agashe, the screenplay and dilouges of the film has been written by Chinmay Mandlekar and music of the movie is composed by Ajay-Atul, The lyrics of the songs has been penned by Guru Thakur, and its cinematography has been done by Sanjay Memane.

Chandramukhi is all set to release on April 29, 2022.
